Universal Brand Development (UBD) has announced Chris Janci as Vice President of Fashion & Living for the North America region, reporting into both Marc Low, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Lifestyle and Emmanuel Doessant, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products, North America. UBD globally drives expansion of the company’s intellectual properties, franchises, characters and stories through innovative physical and digital products, content, and consumer experiences.
Chris brings nearly 20 years of experience to the role, where he will focus on building UBD’s apparel, accessories, footwear, and home & living business across all channels. Additionally, he will look to expand partnerships in the branded space by connecting UBD’s characters and stories with brands our fans love.
The UBD Global Lifestyle team is focused on being a consumer-centric business where the end consumer is at the heart of the marketing strategy. Chris’ apparel merchandising background supports the team’s plan to align franchises and properties to the fans – where they shop, what brands they like, which products are most relevant to their lives.
Chris has had an impressive career within the apparel industry holding a variety of merchandising & design positions with major global brands such as GAP, Levi’s, and most recently, the North Face – where he was VP of Merchandising & Planning for the Americas.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Duke University.
