DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms Soars Onto Consoles and PC This Fall

A brand-new video game inspired by the DreamWorks Animation original series will launch later this year

London, May 19, 2022 - Outright Games, the leading publisher of family-friendly interactive entertainment, in partnership with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, will release the new video game, DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms, this fall on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and PC.

Players will be able to unleash their inner dragon in this single player action-adventure game, which is inspired by the DreamWorks Animation original series DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms

Fans will be able to venture beyond the Hidden World and immerse themselves in a whole new world of dragons, and soar and dive through five unexplored realms as one of a new generation of dragons - Plowhorn, Wu & Wei, Feathers, and Thunder - on an epic quest to save Thunder’s family. Players will need to unlock special abilities and use their tails, claws, and breath to defeat fearsome foes. Levelling up the dragons’ speed, strength and intelligence will be necessary to build the ultimate hero dragon and defeat the gigantic bosses that stand in the way of rescuing Thunder’s family. The future of Night Lights and all dragonkind depends on it!

Experienced players can also put themselves to the ultimate test in ‘Challenge Mode’ featuring replayable levels that become even more difficult after they’ve first been completed. Adding to the immersion, while players swoop and soar around as Thunder and friends, they will be accompanied by the distinctive music of acclaimed composer Chris Whiter, who has created all the orchestral tracks for the game.

“We’re excited that in 2022 Outright Games will be able to deliver an incredible DreamWorks Dragons video game and help introduce the world to this all-new generation of characters,” said Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games. “As huge fans of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, we’ve loved transporting these amazing characters and realms from the newest TV series to a video game, as well as collaborating again with our partners at Universal. Fans can expect incredible action and adventure when they get to fly and explore as their favourite dragon. We can’t wait to share it with everyone later this year.’’

“The critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon franchise continues to command the attention of generations of audiences worldwide after it first hit screens with the first film in 2010,” said Jim Molinets, SVP of Production, Universal Games and Digital Platforms. “We look forward to building on the success of DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms with an interactive experience that blends non-stop action and modern story into a game that will exceed fan expectations.’’

Set 1,300 years after the events of How to Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms is streaming now on Peacock and Hulu in the U.S. and will be available for the rest of the world this spring.

DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms releases this fall on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and PC.

A Heartful of Games

AHEARTFUL OF GAMES (AHEARTFUL) is an independent game studio based in Madrid, Spain. Since our Kickstarter debut on 14th of February, we've strived to make compelling and innovative games. Heart&Slash was our first project and stood out for its unique visual style and virtually endless replayability, making it an engaging couch brawler experience. Founded in humble beginnings, H&S's development was entirely remote and lasted over 18 months, all the while maintaining an active Early Access campaign. Heart&Slash was released on Steam, Xbox One and PS4 in 2016. The Nintendo Switch release came out during Christmas 2018. At the end of 2015, while H&S's development was ramping down, AHEARTFUL collaborated with Kaia Studios with their debut title Dynasty Feud a 2D fast-paced 4-player brawler centered on one-hit-kill as a core mechanic. In a match of Dynasty Feud, players control all the family members of warrior dynasties, replacing each other after each death. Dynasty Feud earned multiple honors and awards for its engaging gameplay and support for online play. In 2017, we began the pre-production of IRONSKINS, for which so far, AHEARTFUL has received both the CREATIVE MEDIA and RED.ES grants. IRONSKINS is still in development today and is scheduled to release in 2020. Last year we released Sprit: Lucky’s Big Adventure which was also a collaboration with DreamWorks.
